Announcing The Etkin Brewers Cup Sponsorship Program
I love coffee competitions.
In fact, I owe a big debt to coffee competitions.
When I first started to get into coffee, I learned about coffee processing, coffee varieties, and so much more by watching coffee competitions.
Competing in coffee competitions helped sharpen my technical skills and learn how to execute under pressure.
When I became a competition judge, I learned how to communicate my sensory experiences more clearly.
One could say that competitions have been an integral part of my coffee career.
When we started working on the Etkin 2-cup Dripper, we wanted to design a dripper that could be used on the stage of the World Brewers Cup— the biggest competition for filter coffee preparation.
We’re honored that the first year the Etkin 2-Cup Dripper was on the market it was used by competitors in Türkiye and Romania. Nida would go on to use it at the 2024 world championship in Chicago, where she placed in the top half of competitors.
For the 2025 competition season, we’re excited to launch a more formalized competition sponsorship program. Having been a self-funded competitive barista myself, I firmly believe that costs shouldn’t prevent committed competitors from accomplishing their dreams.
Competitors selected will receive:
- 4 Etkin 2-Cup Coffee Drippers
- 2 packs of Etkin 2-Cup Coffee Filters
- 3 hours of coaching and feedback
Applicants will be assessed by criteria including:
Vision (Why do you want to compete?)
Desire (Why do you want to use the Etkin 2-Cup Dripper)
Need (Why would you like to be sponsored by Etkin?)
